Not only was I able to install my choke and heater cables, but I got my K&N air filter installed. It was fairly easy to install and really cleans up the engine bay.
Tip: The standard Unipart oil filter is not easy to come by here but there are several that can be used as replacements. Click here to see a few. I went with the Bosch 3330. Also, make sure you use a non-synthetic 20w50 oil since the engine and gearbox share their oil.
I was also lucky enough to take the Mini for a spin since it hasn't moved in a while. The great news is it leaks a lot less now and it started. The bad news is that the lights aren't working again so I'll need to address that, probably with a multimeter and a new alternator belt. The other thing is that it seems to struggle a lot more in higher revs. Based on nothing at all, I'm hoping this is because I still haven't replaced the carb needle. I'm guessing that the current needle isn't providing enough fuel at high revs.
