I haven't been completely stagnant however. I have a small (very small) collection of AutoArt models and my favorite one is the DB5 from Goldfinger. It's a very rare first version with all the weapons. Unfortunately, it fell pray to a condition know as zinc pest. The diecast metal used in the car was impure and one of the doors started to disintegrate. I was able to contact the AutoArt office in Germany and they kindly sent me a new door. I've still got some repairs to do, but I'm very pleased with the outcome. Since there is nothing new to report on the Mini, enjoy the photos of my repaired DB5.
Ever since I near asphyxiated myself on the ride to and from Fallfest, I've been thinking it really is time to try and solve the leaky exhaust. I've watched Wheeler Dealers and any time Edd assembled a slip fit exhaust, he uses an exhaust paste. I was able to find some stuff here that is similar, but I'm undecided if I want to use it. I was hoping to find something a little less permanent because there are good reasons why I might want to disassemble the exhaust in the future. It's also gotten rather cold as the fall has settled in and I'm in the process of trying to buy a new home. All this combined has kept me from work on the Mini.
